Open Weight Camps
National Team Development Camp(s)
These camps are for athletes that are not quite ready for the U23 team, but still desire an opportunity to improve their fitness and gain valuable small boat skills required to make the national team. These camps will be held in five different locations throughout the country and will be organized by the camp (duration, costs, and other specifics will be determined by the camp). The development camps will have the opportunity to race in the Olympic Events Regatta alongside the U23 and senior national teams. It will give the athletes an opportunity to gauge their speed and improve their racing skills. Camps can then go on to U.S. Nationals and Canadian Henley.
While there are no open weight sculling opportunities for the 2006 Under 23 Team, this summer's development camps will prepare athletes for sculling opportunities at the 2007 Under 23 World Championships.
To apply for a development camp, please contact the camp directly. The coach will provide specifics for the camp.

National Team Freshman Camp
This camp is for potential athletes with one or perhaps two years of rowing experience. The goal is to expose the athlete to the National Team, row in all boat categories (1x to 8+), learn some technical and physiological basics, and train with athletes of a similar caliber. The camp will be short (6-7 days) and held in the middle of June at the University of Wisconsin. The costs are to be determined. This camp is for the young athlete that has physiological potential and the desire to learn more about the national team.
Under 23 National Team Camp
This camp is for selection to the Under 23 World Championships in Hazewinkel, Belgium. This year we will be sending at least an 8+, with the possibility of sending additional boats if the speed and talent is there. This is an exciting development, and it will give your athletes a better opportunity to race at an international level. The camp will start in Seattle at the University of Washington and then shift to Mercer Lake for final selection in late June and early July. This will be a selection camp primarily, but those that do not make the eight will still have racing opportunities at the Olympic Events Regatta.
Senior National Team Camp
This camp is for a few exceptional athletes that are ready to compete at the international level. These athletes will possess a good physiological base and will have received the highest recommendation from their coaches. Athletes that attend the senior camp will compete for seats in the 4-, 8+, and still have a chance for the U23 team if they do not make the senior team.
