INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – USRowing’s Junior Women’s National Team Head Coach Steve Hargis has invited 31 high school women to attend the junior national team selection camp this summer, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The invitation list includes six members of the 2005 Junior National Team: Desiree Burns, Jennifer Cromwell, Ariel Frost, Sarah Gribler, Adrienne Mecham, and Jordan Peek. Frost and Cromwell raced in the women’s eight that finished fourth at the 2005 Junior World Championships, while Burns finished fifth in the women’s pair. Peek, Mecham, and Gribler finished sixth in the women’s four.
This year’s selection camp will be based in New London, Conn. The athletes will compete for spots on the 2006 USRowing Junior National Team that will race at the 2006 FISA World Rowing Junior Championships August 2-5 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
