Registration Process
USRowing will charge the regatta a sanctioning fee as follows:
Sanctioning Fee Schedule:
Indoor Regattas (any size), $200
Small Regattas (1-500 participants), $350
Medium Regattas (501-1,000 participants), $750
Large Regattas (1,001-1,500 participants), $1,250
Mega Large Regattas (1,501 + participants), $1,500
Requirements:
- The host organization(s) must be an active organizational member of USRowing.
- The registered regatta application and the appropriate sanctioning fee must be received by USRowing one month prior to the event date. Indoor regattas should complete all pertinent information relating to an indoor event. Applications will not be processed until payment is received. A confirmation e-mail will be sent out to the regatta director and chief referee once the application has been approved and processed.
- All registered regatta participating organizations must be active members of USRowing and must compete under their official USRowing membership name. The only exception to this rule is for single entries. These single scullers must be full-privilege individual members of USRowing and must race as “Unaffiliated.” Regatta Directors are responsible for informing all participating organizations of this requirement.
- If the regatta is using RegattaCentral’s registration services, participating organizations will be notified if they do not comply with the above policy. If the regatta is not using RegattaCentral for registration, a list of tentative participating organizations must accompany the registered regatta application. As other crews register for the regatta, the organizing committee must notify USRowing. USRowing will contact those organizations that do not comply.
- The regatta organizing committee must work with USRowing to ensure that all participating organizations are USRowing member organizations. USRowing suggests adding this requirement in your initial announcements about the regatta.
- The regatta must have in place a fully-licensed USRowing referee confirmed to the role of chief referee (Rules of Rowing, 2-101, 2-102, 2-103 for sprint races; rule 8-105 for head races). The regatta organizing committee must work with the chief referee to ensure that the necessary referee positions are filled by USRowing licensed full or assistant referees. (Rules of Rowing, 2-104 for sprint races; rule 8-105 for head races.)
- The regatta organizing committee must work with the chief referee to determine that the regatta meets USRowing’s safe and fair standards for the registered regatta program. Any exceptions or amendments to the rules of rowing must be submitted to USRowing. Exceptions or amendments will not be allowed to any asterisked (*) rule. (Rues of Rowing, 1-104).
- After the completion of the regatta, the chief referee and regatta director are responsible for compiling the safety checklist and any necessary insurance report forms. These forms should be sent to USRowing within 30 days of the event. If you have any questions or need the information faxed to you, please contact our membership department at 1-800-314-4769.
For 2010, all USRowing Member Organziations can have their members sign the waiver online. Online waivers can only be viewed on the RegattaCentral Web site. If a registered regatta does not use RegattaCentral, a paper form of the waiver must be signed and given to the regatta organizers.
How to Sign a Waiver Online
Visit www.usrowing.org and click the Join/Renew link in the upper right hand corner. Next, you’ll need to click the link titled “Sign Waiver and Add My Name to My Organizations Roster”. Each individual will need to sign the waiver themselves unless they are under 18. If so, their parent will need to sign for them. A number will be generated to verify that the waiver has been signed. If your members have paid dues making them full-privilege members, please have them use their membership number to sign the waiver. Full Privilege members will need to click the link “Sign Your Waiver Online”.
